Balut egggs

I think a large part of their business is selling meat ducks, so it doesn't surprise me.

I always thought their thing was selling legacy breeds! I didn't know they catered so much to the livestock angle. Ya learn something new every day. I am curious though, when it comes to balut, is there a humane way to prepare it? Like, dropping them into a rolling boil instead of placing the eggs in cold water and slowly turning the heat up like you do with regular hard-boiled eggs? I know that's how you do it with lobsters and they're usually dead within ten seconds or so.

I have no idea how one could do it humanely... I'm one that just paid the vet $60 to euthanize my peachick instead of doing it myself.

I know what you mean. Just the other day I spent 40 minutes in my slippers chasing down what I thought was a little lost call duck only to find upon finally finding the dang thing that it was just a wild juvenile wood duck. Le sigh.

And I'm so sorry to hear about your peachick...oh Kathy, that must have been awful. At least the lil' guy got to go peacefully and without pain. :/

The OP has a video early on in the thread showing the movement of the embryos in both of the eggs. I think she labeled them S and W. they were still alive for sure as of that point.
