Before any of you say anything, yes, I know this is disgusting. A Laotian woman my mother works with wants to buy dozen of those nasty half developed embryo things off me. Does anybody know when to take them out of the ‘bator?

I hear day 18! and your right

Hey, beats the suspense of lockdown and humidity freakouts and temp spikes. I'd sell balut all day long if I had ducks. I hatch for beans anyhow... lol

My next door neighbor asked me about this. She knows I have chickens and ducks and wants the duck eggs.....YUCK!!!!! Anyway, she says she likes them only partially develped...about half way. Her husband likes when they are almost completely formed.....YUCK!!!!

Give the buyer a choice. She may have a preferrence.

YUCK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Sorry, just had to let that out.

Glad you asked, cause I was getting ready to. Have some egg customers who want some chicken eggs balut -ed. I seriously had nighmares after our converstaion that day.

I was told that after 14 days they start to grow feathers (down). I would ask her how long.

depends on the preference. different people and different cultures tend to want them at different time. some people like it when it has a bit of feathers cause its crunchy and the bones are more crunchy too. some people like it when its a bit more soft.

ask her and tell her she can pick what day of development she wants them stopped at

Funny--I just had a request for this same thing. I told her no. My incubator is already full anyhow, and she'd have to pay me about $5 an egg to make it worth my while. And yuck. I did tell her I'd sell her fertile eggs & she could incubate herself for the purpose. The other thing though... boiling alive isn't exactly a humane way to go. I'm not into it.

Do you boil them straight out of the incubator? I figured they'd cool off first (like for 24 hours) which would likely kill them... but maybe it wouldn't.
