At my first job at the age of 17 I was a receptionist at H and R block. A lady identified me as “the girl with braces”.

That wasn’t as bad as the first day I got braces at 16 and the guy who stalked me decided that was the best time to give me an unsolicited kiss. I was so shocked I don’t even remember how I reacted but wish I would’ve been brave enough to punch him but then that would’ve gotten me banned from school like I’m gonna get banned for having yet another post too long

Btw make sure you wear your retainer religiously and don’t wrap it in a napkin at restaurants. Lost a retainer that way and still have a gap between my front teeth (although not wide enough to be like Madonna, darn) $300 later. I somehow thought buying a new retainer would close the gap from me not wearing one the final time I lost the retainer. The dentist said it would only prevent my teeth from shifting even further. I lost that one too, not sure if my teeth shifted more or not.
