We had to put a sock on our 6 week old duckling after we wrapped the wing because twice she got the vet wrap off. But I think I read I should leave it on and not remove it daily to change. However, we take them out every day to swim and exercise. It doesn't feel right leaving all of that on after it gets wet.
Has anyone had to do it this way? I don't know what to do now that I finally have the darn thing on!

Could you post a picture of the wrap job?

Ducks that are bandaged on both wings really shouldn't be bathing due to the risk of drowning.

Oops. I should have been more specific. They go in a kiddie pool and I'm there watching. It's more like dipping and splashing than swimming 😂.

The only picture we took is of the sock. We made the slits in it so we could get it on. It was too tight.
But leaving it on is no longer the problem because she got out of it last night. The vet wrap too. I have no idea how!
I really want to fix this wing. It's a target for the other ducks to nip at if they want her to move over or get out of the way.

Are there any other options?

Here's a picture of the wrap yesterday. It's hard to tell from the picture. But I followed the video that is posted on the forum of the guy using a chicken wing. This time I made a tube out of a t-shirt and tied the top and bottom. That was a disaster, it slid down around her feet in the brooder after a couple of hours. And on top of that, she had somehow gotten the bandage to slide off underneath. Even the short time being wrapped though seems to show some improvement.
I think this wouldn't take long to correct if I can just find a way to keep it on for a little while. I hate separating any of them. But I think I might have to try just wrapping the wing only and bring her in the house for a day or so. That way I can watch her and re-wrap when she gets out of it.
