Bantam 5 week old any idea on breed or sex?

I’m leaning towards roo. Was obtained as a mixed run from Hoover’s Hatchery.

I think it's a Cochin, and agree likely a cockerel. Look up what breeds and colors that Hoover's sells, and it will be obvious.

I was wondering the same thing. He started all black but is getting the silver edging

No, it's part of the Birchen pattern.
