Well I started with 3 wheaten ameraucana chicks (LF). For whatever reason 2 of those failed to thrive. I was left with one and it is starting to look like a cockerel, of course, why would it be a pullet?
Anyway, along with my hatch I had a bantam ameraucana egg that made it and is doing well. I have strong suspicions that this one is a pullet. I live in the cities and have to really limit my flock numbers.
My question is, what is everyone's opinions on bantam ameraucana? Do they lay well? Trying to decide if I keep it or just wait until next year and try again for the large ones, which is what I originally wanted. I have a mixed bantam currently and she is a great bird, but her laying is very inconstant.

this is her currently...or hopefully a her.

And this is my suspected cockerel. Lots of dark feathers starting.

Looking at the pictures, "he" looks lighter. But in person he is getting some deep reds.
