That is very cute.I can't wait for spring here so i can have some babies too :) Been gathering together a good breeding flock, and now have to wait through winter until i can have babies :(

Hi all, I bought my two girls from a garden centre last week and they didn't know whether they were bantams or full sized fowl. I don't really mind either way but do you have any ideas?

One of my Wheaten Bantam AM girls. She is 14 weeks.

She has a hatch mate that looks almost identical but has no beard or muffs at all.
The may or may not have the same mom but do have the same dad.

These were from a breeder who shows her chickens, too.

Does it crop up often - the no beard or muffs?

I have two questions about my bantam Ameracauna. First, is this a roo or hen? Second, what is this color called? This is a beautiful bird, but it's mine so that may be why I think so! Lol

This is the best I can do with this bird. Very shy and hides between Dusty's legs!
They are about 3 1/2 months old I think.

Do Ameraucana bantams lay just blue eggs? Or do they lay green and mint color eggs too? What is the difference between a Easter Egger and an Ameraucana? I have been wanting this breed in bantam size but would like them to lay blue, green, and pinkish colored eggs.

Easter Eggers are mixed, mutt or chickens that do not meet the Ameraucana Standard of Perfection. It may not have the feather coloring, muffs or beard, but still lay blue or green eggs.

I have 2 bantam EEs. one lays a bluish egg and the other lays a more greenish egg. I also have a White Ameraucana bantam (meets the standard) and 3 Wheaten Ameraucana bantams ( 2 of which meet the standard and for some reason one does not have a muff or beard- so does not meet the standard) All of them were hatched from blue eggs and I am waiting for them to lay.

Visit the Ameraucana Breeeders site for more info on the SOP -

Love both my EEs and Ameraucanas !!
