I am currently watching two little pekin bantam eggs laid by my sister's hen, Ruby. It's day 9, and Ruby is starting to look like a good mother, apart from eating her other 7 eggs...
We were feeding them all a mixed grain, and by changing to layer pellets, adding more hay to the boxes, and washing the eggs to rid them of the strong smell of egg yolk, there have been no more missing eggs.
I'll post photos of the babies when they arrive, and I have my heart set on the names, Hope and Faith, as it would have, and already has taken a lot of that to bring them into the world...
Currently trying to wait patiently,
