I recently added a bantam buff laced polish to my flock. The seller told me it was 5 weeks about 2 weeks ago. Clearly, that’s not the case (I realized that at pickup but took it anyway). I’m guessing it’s around 4 weeks old right now and I’m hoping to get an idea on gender.

I know it can be tough to sex them at this age, but Im leaning toward a roo. Anyone know if polish roos are noisy typically (just in case)?

:welcome

Too early to tell yet I’m afraid but I don’t see any wattle development yet which is good.
Unfortunately they can be just as noisy as any other breed when it comes to crowing. Also females can be quite noisy, they chat a lot to each other! I even have a couple of white crested blacks who scream :hmm It’s a squawking that’s pretty loud but it’s also for attention & treats!

Thanks! (S)he is pretty cheepy when I’m not letting her on my shoulder. She really likes attention, especially from our Cochins, who mostly ignore her.
