Little girls came yesterday and Noodles got her hugs..Definitely a silly chicken..

Silkie the silver Mille fleur/Mille fleur
D’Uccle Cockerel
Hatched on March 20 which was the spring equinox and national poultry day

Frizzle the silver Mille fleur/Mille fleur D’Uccle pullet also hatched on March 20 and is silkies sister

Betty the mille fleur D’Uccle hen also the ma of silkie and frizzle

Dottie (behind the white pullet) hatched September 17th and is the chick of speckles and silkie she is a Mille fleur/silver Mille fleur D’Uccle
(Sadly one day she disappeared and we think a hawk took her)

Peggy a Colombian Plymouth Rock pullet
She was broody for 6 months on and on after we got her!!!!

Will post more of my bantams later

AAAAAH, I LOOOOVE Silver Mille Fleur D'Uccles!!

Peggy is super cute, too! Sounds like she'd fit right in here. My silkie-feathered Cochin bantams (and a couple of the smooths, too) were working on breaking her record earlier this fall. It felt like they were going to be broody forever, as long as it took them to break!

Of course, now they're all molting, but my two Silkie hens are brooding.

It never ends!

Finally, a thread that addresses my obsession with bantams! Does anyone else struggle with justifying more solely because "they're tiny?" You know it's a problem when you own too many bitsies to show all off in one post....or even five.

Here are just a few of my precious babies, as a teaser -

Left to right: Tiny Titan (Spangled OEGB), Sleepy Scott (Crele OEGB), Cricket (Brassy Back OEGB), Beautiful and Sweetheart (BB Red Phoenix), Lancelot and Lady Amherst (Hamburg), Bowie (Golden Laced Polish), Sprout and Nugget (Crele OEGB, hatched from our flock), Pepper and BeeDee (Silver Duckwing X Crele OEGB).

Just a few more of Lancelot, my evil, gorgeous brat. I admit, I can't stop staring at him. There was a time I didn't even know bantam Hamburgs existed. They're so itty bitty.

Sorry if I gush too much....it's always been my dream to own a Hamburg roo.
