Hello all,
I'm new to raising chickens. I've always wanted them. DH got 10 from Rural King and I wanted Bantams. I went to TSC and got two bantams, two Black Sex Links and two Amercuana (sp)

One of the banty chickens has feathers on its feet. It was bigger of the two. The other one does not. We got both of them from the same bin. Do you think it really is a banty? It's much smalled than the one with feathers. I can take pics and post tonight if that will help.

I have no idea about the other two breeds that we got. Are they good, bad or indifferent for chickens. A couple of them seem to be very docile and like being held.

1/2 of my flock is bantys and i've got a few mystery chicks and 2 have feathered feet and they were bigger than the little peanuts i got at the same time but there is a noticable difference between them and my reg size chicks of the same age as soon as they are older i'm going to post pics to see if anyone can help me identify them. bantys are great for bug control and lay small eggs and i love to watch them and they are easy to handle but so far all my chicks are pretty docil and easy to handle

Pictures would 'def help.

I'll get pics tonight. They are all so cute. I said we will have the best Easter eggs in town. They will just be a bit late

"Banty" is a relative term, it varies by breed on how small your adults will actually be. Our "Bantam" Cochin rooster was nearly as big as some of our smaller LF hens.

The sign at TSC just said Bantam chicks. That was it. Since I'm new I thought that all of them would have feathers on their feet. Only one of them does. It is gray/silver/white colored. The other is VERY small and blackish in color.

I'll try and get pics tonight and post.
