Bantam Cochin early guesses

Our two mottled Cochin are super red, but I’m going to be so sad if Jellybean is a roo too Anyone want to take an early guess? Exactly a month old today. Jellybean didn’t frizzle, but is at least blue. This group on straight run is having much less luck lol

Too young but guessing at this point possible male, that's alot of comb for a month old & I see wattles creeping out. Repost pic at 6 - 8wks. Chicks combs/wattle are also "heat" sensors, when excited or hot or stress it does redden.

Hi!
I have 4 new bantam Cochins - as of Saturday, that are going to be 4 weeks old tomorrow.
I can see combs starting and some a little larger than others, but one little seems to have little wattles showing


Hoping for pullets as that is what I bought them as, but… time will tell i think..
they are just so darn cute.

The breeder I found in NH. I was shocked when she said that she sexed them. There is a bird gene test that says the sex of the chick If unable to tell at hatch. It uses egg shell and feathers? [i think].. I’m not a good listener at times especially when I was looking at the chicks!
She had 10 Bantam Cochins. All different colors, jubilee, calico, millefleur and mottled. I believe mine are more “mixed” than a solid one of those colors. But time will tell?

I’m not sure any Bantam breeder can be 100% which is why I have some doubts. I’m also VERY unlucky and have had 11 boys this year by ordering pullets, sooooo… yeah

I’m not sure any Bantam breeder can be 100% which is why I have some doubts. I’m also VERY unlucky and have had 11 boys this year by ordering pullets, sooooo… yeah

And I thought my luck was bad with pullets this year!!! Ouch
