Hi--I have two bantam cochins about 8 weeks old. Frizzle's comb seems a bit red, and I'm reading on this site that that may mean rooster. She's very meek in her behavior. Harriet (the fluffy one) seems to have a paler comb.

If you can give me your opinion on whether they are he's or she's I'd be very grateful.

#1 may be a roo as well, I had 2 Golden Laced bantam Cochins with combs similarly sized at 8 weeks that turned roo on me.
#2 is definitely a boy. Very pretty birds, hope I'm wrong about the first one!

Hi--I've gotten some better images of their combs. It does sound like Frizzle is just a particularly sensitive boy; I'm still hoping that Harriet doesn't turn into Harry!

I had a bantam barred frizz cochin I thought for sure was a a pullet. Developed way later than the other 2 that were obviously cockerals. Then my "pullet" started crowing at about 4 1/2 months.
