I have 2, 6 month old bantams cochins. Are they all so docile? I'm so surprised by them. I take them out to free range and they follow me like little ducklings. If I put them in the coop, they will stay there, even tho the door is open. They accept all new chickens without any drama, no pecking. Are LF Cochin the same? I'm thinking I might want only Cochin.

I have had two bantam mottled cochins. They both had/have awesome personalities. I lost my first one suddenly...I'm not sure what disease took her. I missed her personality so much that I did get a second one. They remind me of a lap dog or cat. Both would/will ride around on my shoulder/head, follow me around like a dog, talk, etc. I've experimented with several bantam breeds but eventually, these will be one of the main breeds I keep.

I have two bantam cochin cockerels and two hens. I also have one LF.
my bantams are docile for the most part. One of my cockerels and hens are a bit shy tho. And my LF is docile but is also VERY sassy when it comes to roosting! She want no one near her even if its 30*!

Thanks guys! I'm just so happily amazed by their personalities. They climb into my lap and don't mind being pet and snuggled. I love their tails, they look like little buns. I think I will let them hatch some more cochins if they go broody.

This is my first year adding LF Cochin's to my flock. They are for the most part just like the bantams in personality. Possibly even mellower.

Not all are created equal though. My blue girls are massive while my reds are about halfway between the bantam and the blue in size.

The red one is at the bottom in the pic. Lol cannot even see her feathered feet there. To the far right is a bantams head.
