Bantam Cochin

Hi @Will230145!

I had a bantam Cochin a couple years ago (RIP Hennypenny-my-sweet-chicken). I never keep track of when my pullets start laying but I'm 99 percent sure Hennypenny started laying before she turned a year old, and probably in the fall when She was about 9 months old. She started going broody at about a year old, and after that was often broody. She never raised any chicks because I don't have a rooster but I have heard they are great mothers!

I hope this helps!

Most bantam Cochin pullets start laying between 7-9 months. Most. I have had them lay earlier and later though.

We have a bantam Cochin who started laying around 20-21 weeks and went broody about a month later! We are trying to break her brood I was currently.
