Just curious... I have this bantam and it is only 2 weeks old and has a very prominent comb. It doesn't look to have any red, I was just wondering if this is normal for cochin chicks or if it could be a roo... we would like it to be a roo, lol.

Thanks for the help everyone!!!

i have a 7 wk old black cochin pair and i'm thinking they both had combs at that age but at around 4 weeks Pen's started growing more than Truffle's did and started turning pink and at 7 weeks old is very bright red and Truffle's comb is a pale yellow

Ok. I know that the other bantams I have have almost no comb. They are different types though. Thanks!

I'm thinking pullet, still kind of early. But what's with the droopiness, the fluffed feathers and the closed eyes? It it healthy? Looks a bit sickly to me.

I think it was just cold. One of my bigger chickens pooped on it and had it really bad looking. The bigger chick escaped its box during the night. I rinsed it off and dried it then stuck it under a light. It is fine now. Running all over its box with the other bantams.
