Hello bantam Cochin lovers. I have 5 and not one of them is laying. Here's the back story. Calico is a little over a year old. She was laying 5 eggs a week...went broody in May and hasn't laid since. I have 2 that we're hatched in March.....1 laid for 2 weeks in August....then immediately went broody and hasn't laid since the other is a frizzle and has yet to lay. The other 2 were hatched in July and have yet to lay. So frustrating but I love them to pieces. When will they lay???? :he
I

Lol...well these adorable little fluff balls really aren't known for their amazing egg laying....but you can most likely count on them to brood often and be faithful mommas! Mine have always laid spiratically but brooded often. I think that's why they are so fluffy with cute personalities...so they become pets and not dinner:oops: mine will lay pretty steady in the spring and summer months, but will lay off and on during the Fall and Winter months. But I live where we have freezing temps right now....and even then one of my girls is still broody...lol! As far age mine began laying....5 months to 9 months, so your younger ones may have a little time yet...but aren't they ADORABLE!!!!:love

Hey guys. This is the smallest cochin i have. Her wings dont seem to be feathering out like the rest people say it could be due to her breed but im fairly certain shes a pencil bantam cochin. Hee feet look bigger thsn her ill take a clearer picture and any thoughts would ne appreciated. Ps i have three positive frizzles but im prety sure at five weeks her friz would be showing by now?
