BANTAM COCHINS CLUB!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thanks for helping with the breed, all they knew was a mix of bantams at cal ranch lol, i don't know much about them but at least the others leave him alone. i've never dealt with abird with feathered legs, most of my experience is with RIR or leghorns

do they need special care or attention due to the feathered legs, it does seem to be settled in good now, and it only causes a major raucous if it wants you to go in and cuddle with it, as there are no hens from an established flock, seems to get along well with the others running around playing chase, or tug of war with the duck over it's lettuce, but will not bed down with them.

I have bantams with feathered feet and when I show them at the fair the judge always comments on how good the feathers on their feet are. They ask if it was hard to keep them that way. I don't know what I do but my chickens have pretty clean wood shaving bedding and they free range in the day.
Just make sure their bedding is relatively clean and I think their feathers will be fine :)

Silkies. I don't really mind them, lost of poeple love them because they are so tame and funny looking and they go broody often, they make good pets. I have never had a silkie, I thought about getting one but they were sold out when we ordered chicks this year. Everybody loves silkies, you are lucky to have one. Good luck!

not to sure I am lucky, we got it for free though as can't stand to see an animal that is doing so bad and will naturally try to help it out . I am thankful it is doing good, it appeared the feathers were trying to come in on the wings but in almost a week the younger ones have come in nicely and no progress on the bantam.

still trying to decide if we are going to keep her or re-home her, but at least she's eating and playing with the other chicks without problems

well re-homing won't be an issue, he was fine one minute then couldn't stand up and in just a few minutes was gone.
