BANTAM COCHINS CLUB!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Pics
I got 2 frizzles from Ideal Hatchery. One is nicely frizzled the other looks like a regular feather cochin. I am thinking she might pass on the frizzle if I breed her but I do not think she will ever look as Frizzy as the other one.

Smooth Frizzle I think is a breeding issue not a new thing.

Hello! I received my order of Cochin bantams 4 weeks ago from Murray McMurray. Unfortunately 8 of the 16 passed away within the first couple days:( Now as they grow I'm already guessing gender! The 3 partridge are all fully feathered with small combs while the 3 black are lacking in the feather department and have larger combs with more pink. Is this because the partridge are girls and the blacks are boys? Or do partridge get feathers more quickly as a general rule of thumb? Regardless they are all so much fun! The final 2 are blues and very pretty.

I am thinking first pic is a pullet and 2nd is a little cockerel. I would appreciate additional opinions, thank you! These are 4 wk calico bantams.

If they are the same age and look that different, I would say your guess is correct.

Agreed! I had 10 bantam cochins and at 4-6 weeks, the boys definitely stood out from the girls...and by week 7-8, some of my boys were trying out their crowing abilities
