Bantam Duck Page

I myself don't have this issue with my Calls due to the fact that I live in Texas, but I have heard they aren't quite as cold-hardy as other breeds. I don't know about heat, but I would definitely make sure they have a shelter with lots of hay for them to keep warm.

Jacob and I are at the 2010 APA National!

A fellow this morning was placing his for sale call ducks in a bucket of water. Dipping them and returning them to teh sale coop/

Jacob (7) asked what he was selling them for. Suddenly he dipped another, and with water dripping from the duck, he handed it to jacob and said he could keep it.

Jacob now ownes a lovely Butterscotch Call drake. What can we mate it with. Noone has a hen available at the show. pairs, yes. but not a lone hen.

I never intended to have bantam or any other kind of ducks - I'm a chicken person. But, in a weak moment, DH agreed to take a BEI from a friend getting a divorce. Naturally, we had to get her a friend.

The one in the foreground, Daisy, is the original duck and very friendly though she doesn't particularly like being held - kind of shy. The one behind her, Dixie, I bought at the fair and she isn't friendly at all. Now, I'm thinking of getting some Silver Appleyards or some of the other breeds that everyone says have a friendlier personality.

So, now I'm hooked on Ducks and Chickens!

What would you guys call this hen? She was hatched from a pair of Grays. All of the other offspring look just like Grays.

The last is a Grey Pied. Your snowys are not bad, J&J call line right? there shape gives my that idea

So the Pied gene would be recessive? I'm not sure where the Snowys came from, as I bought them at an auction. They are definitely the best Call ducks that I have.
