Bantam Duck Page

Still drooling over those BEI's. Selling hatching eggs and quail to save up enough for a pair from Holderreads, since they are in the same state and have amazing birds.

I know them, and they do have great birds. But Lord $50 for 2 ducklings to ship. I know it's Express, I send all my day old stuff that way too, but I can fill a box with 20-50 birds and still ship for $40, that covers the box, liner, and heat pack price and shipping, for 2 it should be but like $30 tops even at a month old.
Oh well, it it wasnt for that, I'd bid on them

he ships them at about 6 weeks old and older in a single stall box.....$40 plus $10 for the box is about right if you use flat rate shipping. It seems to average out in the end.

I have a question on hatching call ducklings, will they internally pip or are you supposed to do that for them as well. I have only hatched 4 and was VERY lucky, now that I have read all this, I am VERY paranoid!

You guys need to stop posting those pics of cute ducklings. I'm trying to convince myself I don't have enough experience hatching to try breeding calls. I still suck at getting the right humidity in the bator.

Is there a breed of duck that is similar in hatching to a call, but a bit easier? Perhaps BEI's or something similar?
