Bantam Duck Page

Sharpies lol, they wear well so far. Ordered colored bands that should arrive today/tomorrow and will put them on. Figured I needed some cause sharpies don't mark dark colored babies well.

Thanks for the reply. You also said you vent sexed them. I was told i could hurt them if i didn't do it within the first couple of days, is that true? I thought it would be easier when they are older. Mine are 4 weeks and 3 weeks. What do you think, should i try it? Would they tell me if i was hurting them? Ya, i know silly question but i could never be a vet for that reason. Don't want to hurt them. Thanks again. Angie.

Hey Angie, you have to be very careful, but have found it easy when they are slightly older, 3-4 weeks. Metzers has a great video on it. I started with a gray male (ring around neck, rasp) then once I knew I had it right with him went to others.

Ok, thanks i will try it. I usuallly wait till they quack but i've got more hatching soon and i'm going to be selling some of the older baby's and it would be nice to know what i'm going to keep and what to sell. I have seen the video about five times and i'm still worried but i guess if i try it i will know if i should stop or keep going. I realy want to keep them all but i would need a farm, LOL. Do you know anything about call colours? I've got a post on page 72 on this link and i don't know if anyone is going to tell me if they know what colour my two darker ducks are. I know one for sure is a white call, she gets whiter everyday. None of the otheres i am sure about. If you could help with that it would be appreciated. Thanks again, Angie.

I'm taking orders for Fall pairs & trios of my Butters. They will be 3-4 months old at shipping time. Anyone interested?

I saved this little one from a power outage. It had just hatched & the power went out for 3 hours and it was cold and scared. I kept him/her in my bra nice & warm until the power came back on.

ducks, but I do have in MY OPINION a great breed and line of ducks, but I put Art's, Morey's, all my top breeders I have purchased in ONE pen according to breed,

I do it for the love, not the sport and competition, but as soon as the next Snowy eggs are laid, I will collect you some or as soon as I figure if what the ones I hatched out are little girls or boys, and it cools down,we will see about what it will cost to mail them. Just don't let me forget, I will be the first one to tell you my brain is "SHOT THE BLANK OUT",

but the USPS price calculator to ship two too you is only $45 Express on 5 pounds, and again I have a used box at no charge, so your not looking at a estimate $90-$100 top high sided estimate. But either way just remind me
