I let my kids have their pick of the TSC mystery bin about 5 weeks ago. Thanks to this forum, we had everything they needed and they’ve been so fun!

Any guesses to their breed or gender? Any help is much appreciated!

Chick #1: Definitely not a bantam, MUCH bigger than the others. ISA Brown, pullet?

Chick #2: #1’s twin:

Chick #3: Mystery bird! I think it’s a she. It’s hard to tell in this photo, but her feet are greenish and not feathered.

Chick #8: Mille Fleur D’Uccle cockerel? He’s super sassy, maybe because he’s so pretty.

I confirm earlier posts #3 is a golden sebright. Comb should be a rose (no matter the sex), feet should be slate blue and not feathered.

Sexing is a ilttle more tricky with these - both males and females are expected to have the same uniform color and pattern over the whole body and males have the henny feathered tail (so you should not see sickle feathers).

I can usually tell my young cockerels by about 3-4 weeks old based on behavior - they have tons of attitude and often start squaring off with each other for pecking order position as early as 2 weeks old. Later on (8-12 weeks) your males will have pointier saddle feathers over the rump compared to females.

How do these chicks look now? 4#, #5, and #6 are Dutch bantams, old English game bantams don’t have green legs.

Nice job pointing that out! Dutch should have white skin and slate legs as well so the green is still weird. I'm looking back and the d'Uccle also has green legs 😳 Very odd, looks like both breeds have some serious defects
