Bantam Hatching times

When I hatch banties, I stop on day 18. I haven't had a bantam chick hatch before day 21. They always hatch at the same time as the standards.

My bantams hatch the same as standards too, on day 21.

actually your chicks can hatch earlier or later if there standard or banty.

Hi Christina!
I had a line of hatchery Silkies that routinely hatched on Day 19 --- whether broody-hatched or artificially incubated. As I bred away from them, they went back to hatching on Day 21.
I thought that was strange

That wouldn't apply to your eggs.
Did you find the note in the box?
I always stop turning on Day 18 and increase humidity til hatch.

Hi Christina,

My personal experience has been that the banty eggs hatch on days 19-20 and the standard eggs on days 20-21. I stop turning all on day 18.

yeah I got the note! That is interesting about your silkies. I think I read on pekin bantam site that bantams hatch earlier because they are smaller eggs. The building is going good should be done by next weekend. Ill post some pictures when the eggs hatch! Im soo excited.

That's the 'norm' for chicken eggs.
My teensy-weensy Modern Game eegs take the full 21 days to hatch.
