My banty hen just hatched 11 chicks, all my roos are standard size. Anyone know whether the chicks will be full size, banty or a mix? 2 of the chicks do seem a bit larger, but it's hard to tell really.

Chck size at hatch is determined by egg size. Adult size is determined by genetics. If actually a standard/bantam X, they will be larger than their mother but somewhat smaller than their fathers.

Thank you, I wondered how the genetics of banty vs standard would be expressed. I guess I'll just have to wait and see how they grow. I just hope there isn't a broody gene cause I don't want any more broody hens!!!
