Bantam Red Cochin chicks with black patterns? Pics included!

Hey all,
my baby red cochins are 2 weeks old and have black patterns all over them were beginning to wonder if maybe their not red cochins... does anyone know whether they should have patterns? We just dont know!

We got them from McMurrray Hatchery ....We were expecting them to grow up looking like an Rhode Island Red (RIR) but were just not sure...they are red colored everywhere except the patterns..... were we wrong in expecting them to look like RIR's?

While they are adorable, I too am feeling like they should NOT look like this.

One of my Rhode Island Red chicks had that when she was young. It has since faded and she is the pure dark red like she's supposed to be. I have no idea why it happened to that one chick- but you'd never know if you saw her now.

dont worry they will turn red when they loose thier baby feathers
