Bantam Roosters ok With RIR HENS????

Will bantam roosters do ok with my RIR and black hens? or will they get the crap kicked out of them b/c of size?

It's hard to say if they'll get beat up. There are likely to be fights when first introduced but if the bantams establish themselves as dominant, it'll be fine.

We have some old (3 gonna be 4 yr old) RIRs and they aren't harmed by our D'uccle roo. They just walk away from him if they don't feel like .... u know. He is only mean to us not the hens. He "protects" the hens.

Most bantams can handle about anything. Some breeds, cochins, silkies, and such, will have a hard time fighting off the aggressions of a large hen. Also, the bantam needs to be a mature cock. Even a full size cockeral newcommer will get his but kicked by older hens. A mature cock is much better equiped to assert himself.
