Bantam Silver Laced Cochin

Are we able to tell yet if this is a cockerel or pullet?m

Cochins have single combs, that chick has what appears to be a pea comb. I am not sure that is a cochin.

How old? Looks like a cockerel judging by color of comb.

I'[m thinking a rooster, but you don't mention age? I'm thinking 4 to 6 weeks old? Comb is well developed and pinked up for that age.

Yes, 7-8 weeks old. We just guessed Cochin since we got him from the Bantam bin at TSC... what kind of chick do we have?

It's a light Brahma cockerel.

I could be wrong, but never known TSC to have any Cochin Chickens... I have to agree with Brahma, too. It is consistent with pea comb, feathered feet, color. I'm not sure of the age of that arm and hand holding him, but he looks large for a bantam too. I have known TSC to throw smaller chicks that haven't sold in with the Bantams. He might just have come from a small egg... and now catching up. They are very sweet, beautiful birds, though, so for a mystery chick, it isn't bad! And I have seen Brahmas at TSC, got some buff Brahmas there this year. (and saw them throw the little one left that I didn't buy in with the Bantams).

I am not sure the sex, may be a Male because of how red the comb is. But it will be very pretty either way.

I got my Bantam Partridge Cochin from TSC about 3 years ago. She was in the bantam bin.

I have a Cochin from TSCbut I agree this is a Brahma
