Bantam ... Something? Please help identify.

When I brought them home - It was hard to tell. (First pic) But they are now a week old and are really looking like Silver Duckwing now. The wing color is coming in Silver and black and they have white chests. (Second pic) And I was told the way to sex them was to look at the eye stripe. Males are light to no stripe, Females are very dark stripe! So if thats the case. I have three little roo's and three little hens in the making! (Third pic).

Whoever you talk to at mt healthy is not correct. I work for our local TSC and every thrus we get 50-100 assortment bantams from mt healthy, I am there in the morning when the box arrives and the shipping label has mt healthy on it. We have gotten everything from polish, to silkies, to ee, to old English, to Cochins, to d'uccles in all non rare colors.

Wow! :( Well dang. Why do they keep telling me otherwise? I called 800- 451 - 5603 and talked to someone in "sales" and she looked it up on her computer... so she says. You can call and ask too. Maybe they just dont tell people the full list? Guh! This is so confusing!

I got mine from TSC 2 weeks ago and went through the same thing with the person from Mt. Healthy. She told me they had mille fleur, old english, black and white silkies, golden sebright, and cochin. I ID'd my gold sebrights and they are almost black with orange faces. I think you have old english, but there is a mille fleur color of those. Look up Ideal Poultry's websight--they carry all of those bantams and more and they have great bantam pics and videos.

I'm pretty sure hatcheries get chicks off of breeders and other hatcheries sometimes to fill out large orders (such as TSC). Nothing wrong with that, you just can't judge what you might get at TSC by what their supplier sells. For example.I asked TSC who supplied their bantams they said Mount Healthy.I called Mount Healthy to see what bantams they carried. I bought bantams from TSC and got a very wide variety of chicks,a much wider variety than mount healthy said they carried. Which was fine.

i think the cuteness is too much for me! lol

thank you very much for taking their pictures for me. that is exactly what my baby looked like as a child. i named her baby since she is still very small and she is just as sweet as a baby :)
i was told earlier on another post that OEG silver duckwing are a very gentle and loving breed. if thats the case you are going to have so much fun with your crew! i googled and searched on here for pics of them (male and female) and they are so beautiful. it would be great to see pics of your flock of OEG silvers as they grow up! i am curious to see the females to compare them to my baby and i would LOVE to see the little roos too! i bet they will be handsome little buggers! just looking at your pics makes me want another :)
honestly though, if i knew than what i know now about the breed chances are i would have purchased the other ones my local store had for sale. i walked in looking for gardening stuff and i heard a bunch of little peeps! instantly i was drawn to the chicken lol they had one small bin of mixed bantams and i didnt know a thing about them at the time. well i ended up walking out with 2 RIR pullets, 1 barred pullet and 2 mystery bantams. i am so glad i needed some gardening stuff that day or i never would have found my baby! the next day i went and looked at the tiny bantam bin and only a couple were left. so i lucked out :D

i hope you dont mind me stalking you on here lol i would really like to see a pic of them as they grow. my baby is 7 weeks old as of today and watching her grow and develop her beautiful feathers has been amazing! it would be super cool to see your flock as they grow! its good to know about sexing them with the eyes as well, that is a tip i will need to remember so i can find a male in the future :D

oh... and i hope you can get that confusion worked out :/
no matter the outcome that chicken is going to be beautiful!

OK...I got 1 of my questions answered as to the breed of my banty "Pepper"(OEGB)...and I can answer 1 for you. Someone else said the thought you had a Golden Seabright. It's definitely not a Golden Seabright. I have 2 & their feathering is completely different. I also have a Silver Seabright, your Chick looks nothing like either. Seabright feathers are OUTLINED in black. Yours have the black in the middle of the feather. However, I saw someone mentioned RIR. It looks a LOT like those.
