Can you cross a bantam w/a standard chicken? If so, what do you get, something halfway between the two in size? Just curious:)

I don't know, it's just a question out of curiosity, no eggs or chicks involved. How about a bantam rooster and standard hen?

so is that how it works... the bantam gene makes bantam chickens and without it you get large chickens... there is no in between?

My internet search turned up nothing. If anyone knows how it works, I'm very interested. I would find it really interesting if a cross only made one or the other. My guess was that it would be like a dog, cross a big one w/a small one and you get a medium one

Someone here has to know... We had OEGB roos that took care of standard size hens when I was a kid but I don't remember the size of the offspring.

my guess would be medium too, like a dog or a horse or a person (that's what usually happens anyway with those animals).... but I know nothing about breeding chickens.
