Bantam vs. Heavy chick mortality rates

I am order bantie chicks for the first time next spring. Usually I expect to lose 1 out of 15 or 20 standard sized chicks. With banties being so small is their chick mortality rate higher?

I ask because we're goign in with some other folks on an order and need to end up with a minimum amount of survivors.

well, i hope you end up with the maximum number of survivors!

my feeling is that bantams are no more likely to die in shipping than larger chicks. it's the same amount of stress, same needs in transit. i'll let someone with some real life experience with it chime in, though. i just wanted to be a wiseacre.

I've never had issues with a 100% bantam order. When you mix bantams with standard chicks sometimes the standard chicks will trample the bantams. I got lucky with my last order of 10 bantams and 6 standard packing peanuts.
