So, both my bantams are broody and have been since January. ( I think my silkie got broody in February) I can't do anything to break them as i have no cage in order to let the wind blow under them - but is there any other way to do it? All they do is sit in their cage the whole day every day, and i am tired of eating eggs from the store. (even though the hens don't make much eggs themselves, it's still enough) - thanks

I would say it would be a good idea to buy a metal mesh dog crate and prop it up. You are surely going to need it more than just this once, so it's a good investment. You can find cheap ones online.

Ditto Dat^^^
Even cheaper at flea market or yard sale.

6 months?!?!
Am surprised they are still alive, did you let them hatch anything?

What kind of 'cage' are they in?

they are in an indoor coop and they just sit on the floor all day - but they still eat their food and drink water, so i am starting to think they might just be avoiding the summer heat. Although they don't lay eggs, still.

actually! It may be due to the lack of lighting in their cage during the day, so i'll have to turn the light above their cage on every day again to see if that fixes it.

I understand.Had a bantam who would sit twenty four seven, she had a cycle but stopped and just sat for months on end.
