I have a small flock of 4 birds (no Rooster). One of them is a small black Banty Cochin "Bernadette". She is over 1 year old now, (a little over 14 mos). She has yet to lay an egg. The others lay regularly without issues (E.E., B.O., & Amer.) They have a calcium bowl, and they are on organic layer feed with occasional free ranging and all veggie/fruit/garden related scraps. No parasite issues. They have all been together since brooding, so the pecking order has been established for a while. She is a bossy little spitfire, so she isn't even at the bottom of the order... That honor belongs to the E.E. We have caught her sitting in the egg boxes once in a while, but there has never been an egg (or even a "fart/wind/shell-less" egg). Does anyone have any ideas on why she isn't giving eggs? Do we just have a defective gal? Either way, she is still a keeper, but we were just curious as to what may be going on.
Thanks for any help!
