1) What type of bird , age and weight.
White Crested Black Bantam Polis rooster, ten months old, dunno. He fells about the same weight as always when I pick him up.
2) What is the behavior, exactly.
He's limping.
3) How long has the bird been exhibiting symptoms?
Since yesterday.
4) Is there any bleeding, injury, broken bones or other sign of trauma.
Other than missing half his rear toenail, no.
5) What happened, if anything that you know of, that may have caused the situation.
I have no idea. I've looked EVERYWHERE.
6) What has the bird been eating and drinking, if at all.
Purina Layena, Purina scratch, dandelions, grass, hose water. Maybe a shaving or two.
7) How does the poop look? Normal? Bloody? Runny? etc.
Normal.
8) What has been the treatment you have administered so far?
I found him limping in the run, with his toenail scabbed up and plugged with dirt. I treid to isolate him in my garage, but he crowed nonstop and we live in a town, so he's back with his flock. I tried to bandage it and put Neosporin on it, but he was being uncooperative and the bandage came off.
9 ) What is your intent as far as treatment? For example, do you want to treat completely yourself, or do you need help in stabilizing the bird til you can get to a vet?
I'd like to treat it myself- it's only a toenail.
10) If you have a picture of the wound or condition, please post it. It may help.
11) Describe the housing/bedding in use
80 sf secure house and run, pine shavings.
I think I did everything I could, but I need reassurance hel'll be OK and won't limp forever.
ETA it looks like a clean cut, it wasn't raggedy or anything.
