So I'm guessing that the hard bone running underneath the chick is the breastbone?? Well, all of mine do not have hair on that area. Is that normal!?

lol, hopefully they will get FEATHERS there, but depending on the age and breed, I wouldn't be worried about it. The adult feathers should be fully in by week 5, but some chickens will show their breastbone even as adults.

Ok, what a relief! They are somewhere over 2 weeks old, and I have no clue on the breed.

Oh, didn't mean hair! Well, the rest of the "stuff" around that area is fuzz.

My white rocks rubbed off all of their soft down on their breastbone/stomach around week 2 but have feathered out nicely. Well, that is if you ignore the butt pecking incident.
