My Cochin bantam just started going broody and I'm thinking of getting her a saddle. She is getting covered much too often it seems, just look at her back!


Any suggestions?

If you are going to allow her to brood, you should set her up so that no chickens have access to her - then she would not need a saddle. If you are going to break her broodiness and return her to the flock, a sadlle might be in order.

Get her a saddle. Or sometimes what I do is put several strips of duct tape over her back. It will eventually fall off.
