Question for fellow urbanites I just got three quail that are 2 months old. I'm in an urban environment and they are in my back garden. It's a closed outside space with tiles in which no animal, including cats (a feat in and of itself!), has ever managed to enter.
However, there is a very loud dog who has pretty scary barks who lives on the other side of the fence. The quails can't see him. But they can obviously hear them. I can't fully tell if it makes them jumpy but I can't imagine they are delighted by it. He barks mainly at night. They have a more open and more closed part to the hutch. Are there extra measures I can take so they feel as safe as they actually are from predators?
Added a picture of the hutch (from before I added any quails) to show the set up.
Thanks all!
