Barnavelder has lump on top of foot

Any advice as to what this is and if treatment is needed? He is acting normally.

What does the bottom of the foot look like? Is there a dark spot with swelling on the foot pad? It looks like a typical bumblefoot infection from staphylococcus bacteria, usually the result of a tiny cut on the skin. Here is some info about bumblefoot:
