Chooks, that is exactly what I was thinking! Especially the one on the left.
Great job Trisha and beautiful broody hen on your hatch

Also, thanks for the Barney info.

Momma2 did a great job just like her sister and all 14 eggs hatched

I think I like hatching by broody better than my bator. That dark egg was from my favorite cornevelder pullet

I have only had Barred Plymouth Rocks and they don't go broody very much. We had 1 hen in 3 years to go broody. She hatched 14 of 15 though. All this broodiness will be new to me

My client friend gave me an update on my eggs. She's never hatched Barnie eggs, only bantie breeds or mixed LF eggs. Pam my client friend wrote: "ok...here we go....one is pipping and there is movement in the others...strangest thing I have ever seen...usually the egg is full and I cant see into it at this point...not the case .....and I usually hear "cheeping" ..again...not the case...strange!" . Looks like out of the 8eggs shipped to me only 3 might hatch. They are due to hatch tomorrow 21 days. I am a little excited

I guess 4 hatched out of 8 (2 were extras)

I'm picking them up tonight. Going to see if my broody hen might take over their care, will be watching closely. If not then I will bring them in the house & care for them in here.
