Thanks for pointing out that thread - I only had time to glance through. Great stuff, but yours is the only post about the Barnevelder. Will they get to them eventually? Post # 250 (pg 25) has a chart for wyandottes showing the correct features & common issues with explanations for each. That's exactly what I would like to see for the Barnevelder. Does it exist anywhere? All of the SOPs I've seen are text only. I need a visual comparison to show correct and incorrect. I'm sure going to shows would help.It takes time to visually see what the SOP is referring to. First, remember there is no perfect bird.
I have pictures of my breeding stock, but I don't have hatchery barnevelders.
Keep an eye on the CSU thread. Several of us will be looking for the judges opinions on our birds. They are not to the Continental Class yet, but I'm learning a ton through the other breeds. I would highly recommend you reading the thread.

If you are looking for Bantam Barnevelders, they are listed in my 1979 copy of the ABA SOP. Also see the pics at www.feathersite.comThey will be getting to the barnevelders. They are in the Continental Class.

Question: The comb on some of my 6 week old cockerels leans a bit to one side. Is this just a temporary thing as they grow or is it a defect? This picture actually makes it look worse than it is, but it's an example:
Any other feedback on how they are looking - type, color, etc. Should the lacing be more defined at just 6 weeks old?
I'm going to have to sell some of the cockerels. Anyone interested in a Greenfire cockerel?
Thanks for your feedback!
