Hi Steve,
They are still laying and here some pictures from today. My favorite pure hen just started back up. She's got the whole package, size, lacing, type, and pretty good egg color. She's almost two years old.

My favorite "cornevelder" project hen with a dash of D. cornish is laying really nice. She has awesome lacing, size and by far the darkest egg color

Three eggs from today with the picture taken on a window sill in natural light: on left=Barnie #1 hen, she just started back laying so her eggs are a bit small, middle= Barnie , on right=#1 cornevelder hen who lays really dark

Here's a picture of one of my best looking (so far) project blue cockerels, note the dark blue hackles with very little gold. I have another darker blue cockerel too. I only got two blue pullets from this hatch from Jan 23rd. I think both pullets will have too much gold in them and may have a copy of the columbian gene which I don't want. I have more "blue" eggs in the bator and I'm hoping for more blue pullets and cockerels to choose from.

Here is a close up of one of the blue cockerels. To bad he turned his head at the last second

This picture shows that he's double laced and has nearly a solid blue breast (more like Barnevelders) rather than a flully laced breast like BLR wyandottes. I think in another generation or two I'll start getting some really nice Blue double-laced Barnevelders:)

Great pics Trisha - thanks! Your projects seem to be coming along nicely. Love the little blue cockeral - I've got my eye on those as you know

In the next week or so PM me your address so I can mail you a check for 1/2dz plus that we have talked about. Steve

on the hatching eggs! It should be relatively easy to tell roos from hens in just a few weeks. Breast down color, feathering rate, additude/stance, comb size and color are things to look for. Post pictures of the chicks either here or in the Breed/gender section as they grow if you are uncertain.

Trisha
