Are her legs a bit greenish? I'm amazed at how fast the yellow legs go away... we have two "unintended" 1st generation Barnie/Salmon Faverolles pullets, both with white legs. I thought if they gave up their leg color at least they'd get feathered legs, or 5 toes, but no. One is lighter, and bites me (her name is now Cruella), the other looks pure Barnie 'til I see her legs.
We have some Olive Eggers with an unreal green to their legs, I think from their Penedesenca blood.
If she's not pure Barnie, she is nice looking

Laurieks, Yes, her feet are kinda greenish in color. She layed her first egg the other day and it is cute, cute, cute. I will try to post if my computer will let me it has been giving me trouble. The egg has more of a copper color then any of my other brown layers.

Trisha..........I have managed to lock down 9 of your barnevelder eggs. I'm thrilled that despite 3 power outages during incubation, they are still going.

for a good hatch! I expect they may hatch a little late though.

Oh, I hope the 9 hatch well for you

. I'm sorry you had such bad luck with the storm knocking out the power. I have 21 eggs in the bator that will hatch around the March 15th. Most are project eggs though. I only set a few pure eggs that missed the cut off for shipping (Too old or were laid after and a few that were way to dirty). So far I had 2 clear- one was a "will it hatch" egg that my husband found down by the burn pile and 2 with blood rings that may have been the eggs I had to wash and should of fed to the dogs.

Did you get my PM about a week ago?

I hope you don't think the rest were clears. All but 1 developed (so your fertility was fantastic), but 4 were lost due to the power outages. I'm so happy to have the 9 still going strong!

They are going to be beautiful birds!!!!!
I had forgotten how cute they were as chicks until a few days ago. Of course both that I managed to hatch from my pairs first eggs are boys.

8 more in the 'bator cooking away.

I have barnevelder eggs in the bator, set to go into lockdown late this Thursday night/early Friday morning (right around midnight). They came from mediazeal's vB pen from Christina Ledford... those are good lines, I take it?

I'm hoping for a good hatch. One roo and 3 hens would rock.
