Barnevelder breeders lets work together and improve the breed

Thanks:) I think the hatch was 50/50 but the boys are all hiding under momma in the pics, LOL. Her sister is due to hatch 14 eggs in 3 days and I'm going to candle them tonight. I have way too many chickens/chicks right now

Ok so at the end of day 21 I have nine little barnevelder chicks fumbling around the incubator. The last one to hatch though had a bit of unabsorbed yoke that was kinda bloody, it does not seem bothered by it so maybe it will make it.

Will try to post pictures tomorrow once they are all in the brooder and are all fluffy and have their land legs. Hopefully you guys will be able to help me see how many hens/roos I ended up with... knowing my luck six of the nine are going to be roos

I still have them all in the incubator, I have sat on my hands and not opened it except to bump up the humidity. I have the other 3 eggs still in there, but they were questionable when I candled.

I need some advice, how would you respond to a buyer who indicated your Barnevelder eggs were not "deep terra cotta red or brown"
For I minute I thought we had made a mistake and given the buyer Barnevelders when she ordered Welsummers.

I ordered eggs from 3 different breeders, all 3 different lines - and none of the eggs I'd classify as "deep terra cotta". They have kind of a golden, pinky color to them. I knew going into this breed that egg color is something that is in need of work, but I don't know that they are supposed to be terra cotta.
