Oh they are beautiful! I hatched some bantams last year and ended up with no girls and 2 boys. So slow to mature and I have no double laced beauty queen for lovely dark eggs and two extra boys I don't need in my flock. So gutted. I got the eggs from a show breeder as well. Bad luck!

I ended up getting two a few days ago when si went to the feed store for llama food. Don't have great pics yet but I think they will be really pretty.

I am a total noob at feather patterns/colors/etc so have no idea what to call them.

The feathers on both of mine look more barred than laced to me. But I don't really understand all the patterns yet.

It could be. I know the coloring seems to support that, but at this age I would think there would be something that would scream cockerel and I am just not seeing it yet. I will be sure to update with photos when I know for sure, I am keeping it regardless of boy or girl

Looked again, and both. The combs look too big already for a pullet.

I have two that I got about 5 weeks ago. Hoping they're both pullets! they are beautiful chickens, can't wait to see final feathers.

Barneys are SO slow growing, it may be ages until you know for sure

He is lovely and boy what a sheen on those feathers..I have rooster envy. Lol
