My Double Laced, Blue, and Partridge Barnevelder babies are hatching now, have 7 out of 12 hatched and hope most or all of rest hatch too. Started pipping on exactly 21 days in a brand new Genesis 1588 (this yrs model) and the temp range was less than one degree the whole time and humidity was very easy to keep right around 50%. First time I tried this incubator and I love it so far, the babies are looking perfect coming out of shell too.
My first time with Barnevelders and am excited about this breed. I have white leghorns and brown leghorns for white eggs and got these for brown egg production, even though slow to mature I understand they lay well after they get going.
Is it true you can sex them right away?
