What colour eggs do Barnevelders and Welsomers actually lay? I’ve kind of fallen in love with the breeds characteristics. And I’d love dark eggs. Does anyone keep them, tips, and please, do they ACTUALLY lay dark brown eggs?

Here is a photo of the eggs my Welsummer laid this week. She has been laying for a year now. Some are darker than others, but none are dark chocolate brown. I like her eggs more due to the speckles than the color.

Silver Laced Barnevelders lay speckled light brown eggs, similar to gax000's Welsummer photo above.

They are brown, but nowhere near Maran dark brown.
