So we had our first hatch 10 days ago and they were gold laced Cochin x dark Brahma bantam. Pretty sure both were roosters
under another broody I have 3 eggs left- I assumed they were black sex link and dark brahma mixes but one hatched today and it turned out to be a mix of my red sex link(who was broody when I gathered these eggs or so I thought!) and the bark Brahma. So now I’m curious what our next 3 will be.
Not sure of their exact dates since we were out of town and returned to broody hens but should be soon when I candled them, they seemed awful close!
our hens:
Red sex link (5 years)
Black sex link (5 years)
Gold laced Cochin bantam. (9 months)
our roosters (both bantams):
Dark Brahma (9 months old)
Silver duckwing OEGB (4 years)
Today’s surprise hatchling:
Red sex link x dark Brahma cross
11 days ago we had what we think were:
Gold laced Cochin (definitely hers) x dark Brahma? Or oegb. Not sure
stay tuned to see what mixes we get tomorrow -mondayish
