Both of those mating's will produce 100 % barred chicks . Males will have 1 copy of the barring gene . Not able to sex as all chicks have 1 barring gene .
Thanks for this thread. I learned a lot so far. Most of the genetics is way over my head. I didn't know there were so many variables to get the barring.
I really want a barred easter egger. I was just given eggs to hatch (I have a broody sitting on them now) from a Dominique rooster (BYC memember) over some of his easter egger hens. All the eggs were blue. Will I get some barred pullets from these eggs?
