barred easter egger?

Never once have I gotten a solid colored bird from a Barred Rock roo over anything. I've had a couple with ghosty barring, minimal barring, etc, but never NO barring. Have hatched quite a few BR over BBS Ameraucana and BR over Buff Orp or RIR.

Naturally, if the hen is barred the birds will be sexlinked, but I got some spangled pullets from a hatchery EE rooster over BR hens, which were gorgeous. Wasn't expecting the spangling.

Here is Riley's sister from the same hatch and same parents. I don't have older pics of her-sportsterchick bought her right after those were taken. Also, note that she is beardless. Riley and her brother have yellow legs and the darker blue girl has white legs.

I was all over the idea of putting her with either a blue or black americana idea, but I would further try her with those same color varieties, but in araucana.

Hey Speckledhen, one of Bucky's (BR cross roo) and Midnight's (Black Ameraucana) chicks is getting very good barring (Barred EE) but we are thinking that the chick is a boy. The comb is already getting big. But I talked my dad into keeping him.

I will get a good pic of him up tomorrow. He has a beard too. The chick has a single comb though. That confused me. I thought the pea comb was the dominate one over the single comb.

Would love to see the chick, Maxx. Yes, pea comb should be dominant over single, however, I did have two hens once who were sired by an EE roo over BR hens and they both had single combs. Probably the EE roo wasnt pure for the pea comb gene.

Now I want my EE pullets to hurry up and lay eggs so I can have a Barred EE, lol! SHE IS SO CUTE! I love her because, to me at least, that's uncommon.
