barred easter egger?

Pics
Here is a pic of a pair of barred with slate legs.Have about 6 of these out of 30 chicks I kept.Hatched may 2.Not sure what genes are
involved that allows slate on some. Most had spotted legs.Thre are a few breeders trying to produce slate legs on barred, cuckoo and mottled.Lens on camera kept fogging up in this heat.

Thanks so much. I wish I had a dozen just like her. She lays a bluish-green egg, though she hasn't laid in some time-I suspect egg yolk peritonitis or internal laying, but not sure. She's a great hen.

I lost the hen I was talking about in this paragraph. Riley died suddenly about a week ago, about 3 a.m. She will be greatly missed. I was blessed to have had her for 3 years.

Update pics on my girls....

They were 3 months old in this pic. They don't have the muffs or anything though. Do you guys still think they are Barred EE's? I'm hoping so.....

Speckledhen, I am SO sorry to hear about Riley.

She was a beautiful girl.

I would say cuckoo. The breast that is showing looks like the columbian gene is also involved.I would say most likely easter egger.

Wow! You know, I never even thought of that.... Now that you mention it, that's probably what they are mixed with. Thanks!!!

Now it's a wait to see what color eggs they will lay, shouldn't be long now. I have no experience with cuckoo marans, how old are they when they start laying?

Thanks again!
